I saw a one-eyed raven. This must be a portent that "Summer is coming!"
Hopefully our green wall should keep the worse of the sun's rays from encroaching on our favorite spot outside.
Last summer I installed trellises into the brick border on the side of the patio. The jasmine has been thriving, spreading out on the wires. As you can imagine, the perfume is also intoxicating this time of year.
The side facing out into the arroyo is a healthy mix of fruits and vegetables, again growing along a trellis.
On the third side, which catches the brightest part of the rising sun, I moved four fruit trees. The trees were from bare root stock I bought in January from Four Winds Growers, varieties of plum and peach. And one tree from the kids as a Christmas present.
The trees were not in a convenient location for my drip irrigation, and I did not want to trip-up anyone on a line running across the cement. So I ran a line from the side of the yard, over the patio cover, to a drip system manifold. Then ran individual lines to each of the trees, plus as a bonus, a hanging pot.
The water lines dangle into the tree growth
This green wall will keep us cool unless a possessed dragon burns it down. EEK!
After seeing all this work, I am going to have to have a bit of a lie down to recover. What a beautiful oasis you have created! It is gorgeous. It must be very satisfying to sit out there and enjoy the good vibes. Don't you need some bird feeders now?
